My weekend by Uncle Monster
Went to the Cumberland Covered Bridge Festival. Good news. The bridge is still covered. Also, we got to be in the parade. Actually, when we arrived in town, we somehow ended up right behind the last tractor in the parade. I didn't know it was physically possible to take twenty five minutes to drive through Matthews, Indiana.
Later, we took my mother in law out for her birthday. Pretty good day.
Sunday, we drove north to see my family. We visited with my father at his job for a bit. We all joke about how we'd like to get paid for doing nothing, but I don't think I could do it. Weekend security work is pretty close to that and it would drive me up the wall.
Visited with my sister and various great nephews. Rotten little kids. I love 'em.
Went out to dinner with parents, sister (other sister, I mean) and brother in law.
Then back to Muncie to see a show. Brazil played a last minute gig at BSU. It was about as organized as ever. One of the bands didn't make it (although when we and about everybody else were leaving, they were still saying that the band was on it's way. I can imagine them setting up and playing for the janitor and their merch guy.)
Got to see a man stand in broken glass, swallow swords, and do many other awful, ghastly things to his body. Check him out for yourself. I wouldn't recommend him for a kids party though. Stick with the traditional terror of a clown.
Lola Ray was pretty good. They're on tour with Brazil right now.
Brazil rocked. I'd go on, but that pretty well covers it. See them live if you get the chance. Tell 'em Uncle Monster sent ya and you'll get a big surprise. Ok, no you won't. But tell them anyway. I can use the publicity.
Some of my faithful readers have sent me some music recently (re: within the last year). When I made a mix CD for Nic to listen to whilst touring, some of your stuff made it on the CD. Carol of the Olde Ones, anybody?
I got a playbill (3x5 paper with the bands listed) and set about getting autographs from all of Brazil. I got 3 of the 6 when Cindy showed me the full size poster with all six autographs.
Hmph.
So, long story short, we had a great weekend. How about you?
