Independance day has come and gone. We spent it at my father's house in Fairmount. Fireworks (rivalling the official display at the park), hot dogs, hamburgers, and children of all ages made it a holiday to remember. No one got hurt. No one got angry (that I know of). Everyone had a good time. Dad had a waterslide set up for the kids. Most of the family showed up. The annual misfired rocket didn't actually hit anyone.
All in all, it was a pretty good day.
The rest of the week proved to be a trial at work, so I'm glad the weekend went well. No, I won't be elaborating here, because I don't want to get fired. Y'see, I work for a corporation and corporations in this country have been known to take issue with employees who badmouth them in public venues.
Yes, we have freedom of speech. We do NOT have freedom from consequence, something a large number of people in this country have forgotten. If you believe it strong enough to say it, then believe it strong enough to accept what comes from saying it.
That said, I love my job.
I love my job.
I love my insurance and paycheck.
I love my job.
Now, here's a dose of surreality for you.![]()
