About a year ago, they built a wall.
In the building where I work, there was a computer room. Climate controlled, limited access, elevated floors for cables, the whole nine yards.
Since this was a computer room and since servers are basically computers, it was decided that the servers should go in the computer room. Nevermind that the power to the room was insufficient. Nevermind the limited air conditioning capability and space. Just put stuff in there and the computer operators will just have to deal with it.
It didn't work so they built a wall.
At great expense and much discomfort, a wall was built. The servers had their own room and air conditioning. The computer had it's own room and air conditioning. There were problems, of course, but eventually, most of the problems were dealt with and the almighty auditors were content with the situation.
Tuesday, they tore the wall down.
Now, I'm just a lowly employee, not privy to the details of the boardroom. I'm sure there is a compelling reason for disassembling the wall. No sarcasm. I genuinely believe that there is a perfectly logical reason for tearing down the new wall. I just find it funny, that's all.
It doesn't really matter. We'll be moving to a new (secret) location sometime in the near future. Can't tell you when, though. It's a secret.
Personally, I believe we're waiting for the renovation to the new location to be completed. It's almost done, I understand. All they have left to do is build a wall.
